Take a piece of paper from the pile on the table. It will have a sheet of carbon paper attached to it. You will draw on top of the carbon paper and it will print onto the paper below. You will not be able to see what you are drawing.
On this paper you should draw your vision of the future in 10 years time.
This might be a prediction of what your favourite places will look like, or what you want them to look like. It could be an object that we don’t know about yet, an event or situation that you want or don’t want to happen, or perhaps even a vision of what the whole world will look like from far away. Maybe you wouldn’t want to change anything – in this case, draw things as they are.

'Sketches for an Unseen Future' was initially an all-ages drawing event that took place at the Skissernas Museum in Lund, where drawings produced during the workshop were combined into a book that lives on as a collaborative document in the museum's collection.
During the evening 92 blind drawings were produced by over 66 participants.
On Thursday 30th March participants were invited back to the museum to open the sealed drawings.

The book was bound by Eva Eriksson at Malmö Nya Bokbinderi
The project was then taken to Kassel, Germany during documenta 14 in September. It was a part of a larger collaborative workshop 'Översätt - Listening From The Surface' that took place in the Interim space at KulturBahnhof Kassel.
Participants were told they could either donate their drawings to the collection or take them with them.

Next the project was presented as part of a course entitled 'Failure' at Konstskolan Munka in Skåne, Sweden in November. The second year students were asked to decide together what to do with their drawings. After discussing the possible fates and values of their drawings, they decided to pass their drawing to another to open, take off the carbon paper layer to keep for themselves and to contribute the remaining paper to the collection.
I am now working towards a digital version of the project that would allow anyone to participate online. More information coming soon!
